Information Pioneers: How Gutenburg, Daguerre, and Bell Sparked Today's "Wired World" In-Person
The Internet wasn't the first information technology that transformed the world. The printing press, the photograph, and the telephone each sparked a revolution in human connectivity and knowledge. The program examines the lives and lasting importance of the three inventors who brought these wonders into being: Johannes Gutenberg, a struggling German craftsman; Louis Daguerre, a frustrated French artist; and Alexander Graham Bell, a Scottish immigrant inspired by the challenge of teaching the deaf.
